lot in common. Well, they both like to drink too much and they both love to fuck. So, I guess that counts as a lot in common. That, and they’re both workaholics. I often tease my Mom that she’s going to miss her own funeral because she has to work. Jeff’s a sweet guy; not the sharpest pencil in the box with an intelligence quotient about that of Rocky Balboa (he even sounds like him too), but he does love my Mom very much. He’s never been abusive and he’s kept a consistent roof over her head for several years now. But he does love to drink; even more so than Mom. So she is always the designated “least drunk driver” whenever they go out for the evening. Jeff got me a job at the store working in the bakery when I turned sixteen. Fully aware that I would never earn a scholarship and knowing that nobody could afford to send me to a four year university, I worked my ass off at the store and waited tables at IHOP on the weekends to save all the money I could. I planned on earning an Associate Degree from a two year community college and then go to nursing school. I cared about him very much and even gave my virginity up to him; but sex is one thing, love is definitely something else. David and I parted ways for good in December of 2010 and I moved back in with Mom and Jeff for a while. Then in early February of 2011, I got a call from my good friend Stephanie. She and two of our friends from high school, Pam and Laura; both of whom were flight attendants, were all going in together on a lease of a four bedroom rental house and they needed a fourth girl to supplement the rent and monthly living expenses. I immediately agreed. After David, I only dated very occasionally and casually. There were a few guys I dated more than once but nothing that you would remotely consider serious. But there was one guy whom I did get kind of serious with and might have even considered marrying. That is until Christmas Eve of 2012 when I ended up in the emergency room after the asshole beat the shit out of me and thrown me down the stairs because he did not approve of the “whorish” dress I’d chosen to wear to his church for midnight mass. Fucking religious zealots! I spent two days in the hospital and then another ten convalescing back home with Mom and Jeff; at which point I declared, as ...
