There I sat, once again being scolded. I was unable to see the face of my boss, as he expressed his displeasure in my listening skills. Maybe I am not cut out for this, I’m not capable of simple direction. How could I possibly be the right candidate to follow him to the new office? “I am very sorry Sir,” I sunk back into the chair and closed my legs. Mr Henderson stepped towards me once again, this time his hands felt kinder. His fingertips slipped under the blindfold and he paused. “I am going to take the blindfold off of you now; only if you swear you will follow the rules. I have a fun game in mind and I want to know you are feeling me.” “I promise sir, I will be good and listen.” “That’s right Jessica, you WILL be good. You will be my Good Girl!” The blindfold was lifted from my eyes and I strained to adjust to the light. There he stood in front of me, nothing short of a God. His 6’ 2” frame hosted a black two piece suit and a crisp white shirt. The top two buttons were already open, just barely teasing of what’s inside. I looked him up and down, taking in every inch, and every ounce of him. My heart was bumping even faster than before. There is no way this is happening, I just know it, I’m going to wake up. Mr Henderson walked over to the desk and picked up the book. The book which I had without permission taken from the shelf. He sat there on the edge of his desk, perched high above me. Opening the book, he poured through the pages, to the very last page. “536 pages, ...
oh what shall we do my Good Girl?” he sighed. “Well… I only had a light dinner and I’m hungry, we could eat, maybe? I did think this would be a party.” I suggested, then immediately thinking; “ what the hell is wrong with me?” Mr Henderson shut the book and just stared at me. I wouldn’t even know what to call this stare. It was a mixture of disbelief and possibly pity. Pity that I had no idea what was about to happen to me. Just when I thought I had messed everything up, he smiled. Chuckling under his breath he stood up, book in hand. “Don’t you worry, Good Girl. You will be eating and you will be very full and satisfied,” he grinned his perfect teeth. “I know sir, I didn’t mean to imply…” I was interrupted. “Here are the rules of the game. Since you were reading my book, I’m going to assume you enjoyed it. Here is the fun part, are you ready?” “I am ready, Sir” “Good Girl. You are going to pick a number between 1 and 536. Then we are going to have some fun with what we learn.” “Yes, Sir,” I agreed to the terms. “So, what is the magic number?” he said, while slipping his glasses onto his nose. Frantically I tried to remember the order of chapters. There were things in that book that were appalling. There were whole chapters that I would never in a million years even consider; not with this dreamboat, not with any man. “ Fuck-fuck-fuck Jessica, think.” I closed my eyes, rehearsing the chapters in my head. “Page two hundred and…” My voice trailed off. “Two hundred and what, ...
