wanted to look sexy and stylish without showing too much skin. By 6:30 p.m. I left my house with just the right amount of makeup highlighting my eyes and cheeks and with my hair looking perfect I drove to the hotel to meet Daniel. I was sitting on a soft leather loveseat in the lobby when Daniel showed up. He recognized me right away from the pictures that I sent him and he smiled down at me and said, “Hi.” “Hi,” I returned, looking up at him with a soft flutter of my eyelashes. I stood up and we both stood silent for a long moment. He was trying hard to look only at my face, and not be a typical man. I could tell that he was struggling for words, so I thought I’d rescue him. “Shall we go to the bar?” I suggested with a smile, and walked on ahead. We sat with our drinks in a corner booth. He complimented me on the way I looked and I asked him about his meeting. He asked me how I liked living in San Francisco and then we touched a bit more on my stories. He asked if I was planning on writing another story soon and I answered as I felt myself softening up to him, “It depends on how the night turns out.” My answer loosened us up to flirt with each other. I’ll be right back.” I picked up my purse and left Daniel at the table while I walked away with a gentle sway on my hips. I needed a private moment to gather my thoughts as I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, refreshing my lipstick. He seemed like a genuine guy, just like he seemed in his emails. On top of that, I was feeling hot for him. If he wanted to go for something more, I felt like I was ready for it. I left the ladies room and made my way back to the corner booth. Daniel noticed that I had finished my glass of wine and asked, “Would you like another?” “Well, I could, or we could just take a bottle of champagne up to your room,” I answered. He sat and stared. His mouth moved a little as if he was going to say something, but nothing came out. I began to wonder if he wasn’t too keen. “Shall I sit back down?” I laughed nervously. “No, no, no, no,” he said, quickly standing. “Sorry. I was just shocked. I mean, I really wasn’t expecting… um.” He took a deep breath. “I would love to, obviously. I was actually thinking the same thing. I guess I wasn’t expecting you to suggest it,” he went on stumbling all over himself. “Relax,” I said with a cute smile. “Let’s order some champagne.” Getting off that bumpy road, we took the elevator up to his room after placing a room service order for a bottle of iced champagne and two glasses. We got off on the ...
