She thought how nice it must be to have enough time to decorate a plain pot, just so she could have something pretty to pee in. The problem with this train of thought was that it highlighted her own needs, the water she’d been drinking earlier having now worked its way into her bladder. Placing the chamber pot on the floor, Joyce unfastened her shorts and took them down, seeing in her mind that other woman also sharing her needs, on her own in the house.
