I am of average build with a near flat stomach no abs but no beer belly either. I was nearly completed highschool with average grades. The one thing that set me apart was not only did I enjoy sports and mechanical work, but I was a bit of a nerd. I also enjoyed electronic work building circuit boards as well as blacksmithing. Something about nearly dead skills attracted me to them. I am unsure why, maybe it has to do with they played such a part in how we got to where we are now. I am not a popular guy by any means but I was not picked on either and had enough good friends that my social life was active enough to keep me busy but not be crazy. The last thing I remember is getting into my car which I had been restoring with my father before he passed away. I just got everything working to make it driveable and I wanted to take it for a spin ...
so I decided to take it to school. This is where everything changes. On my way I see what looks like a giant lizard bathed in purple light, the next thing I know everything is different. I wake up to someone asking if I was ok. I look around and see nothing but a bumpy mud trail just wide enough for a medium sized car to fit through albeit a rough ride surrounded by trees. I answer the man who is barely 5”3 that yes I am ok despite him looking like he was part of a renaissance fair. He tells me his name is Terrant, so I decide to let him know my name is John (exciting I know). Terrant holds out his hand to help me up and I accept the offer. At this point he looks me in the eye and asks what my specialty is. I look at him puzzled and respond I do not have a specialty I am a highschool student not a savant. He looks at me weird and replies but I found you in the transfer point you must have the gift of specialty. I ask what he means by this and get the response the field of magic you excel in of course, looking at me like I am dead in the brain. I begin to think I am dreaming at this point as this cannot possibly be real. Terrant begins to explain that once every month a new ‘talent’ is brought to that location. It is Terrant’s job to safely guide the talent to the mages guild of their specialty for further training and promotion within the kingdom. I look on in disbelief and tell him magic does not exist and I must be dreaming. Confused Terrant asks what do I mean magic does ...
