A small fleeting glance, a tentative peek, A tell-tale glow appeared on her cheek. She endeavoured to act coolly, to be super calm, To wipe off the moisture that had formed on her palm. But her cover was blown; she knew that he’d seen her, Her redness increased; the blushing got deeper. Why so scared? Why so meek? Why so shy? Why so weak? Her hand touched her face; she chewed on her lip, Her attention to her colleague now started to slip. She made her excuses, she moved along the floor, She watched him intently as he opened the door. His pulchritudinous figure; his smooth rich voice, The way that he walked, it left her no choice. But why so scared? Why so meek? Why so shy? Why so weak? She looked out through the window; she stared at the snow, They’d met, it seemed, so long ago. The door was still open; she followed his trail, He paused, then continued, as slow as a snail. She hurried to reach him; she stumbled, almost tripped, The track was icy; she felt sure she would slip. She felt so scared, So incredibly meek, Why was she so shy? Why was she so weak? His hand reached for hers, their fingers entwined, He gave her his jacket; she set down her wine. They kissed in the moonlight; he undid her hair, She started to shiver in the cold January air. He told her he loved her; he looked into her eyes, He held her tightly as she started to cry. No need to be scared, Yes, she’d always be meek, She’d always be shy, But she’d NEVER be weak.
