It was a deliverance, A redemption, And she was liberated At last, At long last, From servitude to the god of despondency. Her eyes, It was her eyes that he accepted As a mirror of her soul And accepted the difficult But charitable Chore of responsibility For a soul Almost Lost In the dark shadows of slavery To her only knowing, Her world, Her life. He would try To take her hand, For guidance, Towards the bearings of a path to Freedom, To a rising up and Transcendence, At last. Never judging, Just accepting, And wishing the change to become the real, The reality, The verisimilitude of splendid life that one should know, All should know, But at least this one, This soul In turmoil, In pain, Might finally, at long last, know. And she glowed, After accepting the truth, the offering, The benefaction, She shone And became his gift In kind, reciprocal, As they danced The steps of energetic elation For life and love. It lasted for awhile, And ended, As it does, When you offer it all and it is taken, But sometimes rejected For something other, Something better, Now that the burden was gone, He had lifted it, And she tripped away on swiftly moving feet, Now free To be what she would be. His joy was in the release, the freeing, the liberation, And tears were Just Tears of joy, For her, For what she could be, And would be. Free to be all that she would be, All that she should be, All that he could see, As he lifted his head high In pride. He had done his duty, He had done it all, and more, And she was now All he had ever wanted. All.
