It had been a week since Carmen and I had nearly been caught up on the mountain. My tournament was tomorrow. I had avoided any trouble since then and life was pretty much normal. "Your dad and I have to go and clean out her room and make funeral arrangements for her." she said with a sigh. ~"What are you leaving now?" I asked her. ~"Not till tomorrow morning." "Who's gonna take me to my tournament if you and dad are both going!?" ~"I don't know what to tell you Kyle!" she snapped back at me. "See if your sensei will pick you up on his way maybe?! I don't know?!?! Sometimes shit happens in life Kyle that you can't control. I'm already upset and stressed enough already so please don't push the issue! I don't want to be more unpleasant than I already am." She turned her head to look at me with a sharp look. "Next week is our audit week at mine and your dads work. Tomorrow is the only day we can go. I don't trust the employees there with her belongings and furniture for a whole week, and I don't want to catch a red eye flight back home and then go straight to work!" She must have foreseen this argument before I had gotten home. I knew right then not to argue and push the issue. I shrugged my shoulders with an irritated sigh and turned down the hallway and walked to my bedroom. "We're sending Carole over to her little friends house until Sunday. Do you think you could spare me and your dad your bullshit!? And no parties while we're gone mister! We're gonna have the neighbors keep an eye on the house so don't even attempt any bullshit! And that goes for you too Carmen." she said turning her head towards the kitchen where my cousin stood with her head viewing the inside of the freezer.
