Jenna to absudist proportions against her real-life counterpart, but I'm actually toning it down. Brittany's real-life counterpart was someone who was comfortable being known as a slut. She was unique in that her non-caring nature meant she had little-to-no 'teen drama' surrounding her. Quite frankly, I think she was more mature than most people assumed. I had entertained the idea of expanding her character in the coming chapters. Megan has no one source, but is loosely based upon the general theme of a lot of shy girls I knew, why they were shy and how they were underneath. Some of them loved sex, some of them hated it. Some of them wanted to be alone, some of them wanted to be brave and have the spotlight be on them, but just couldn't do it. I tried to flesh Megan out as an individual in chapter 10 as well. May was the quintessential about-to-be-popular girl. A bit of a self-righteous attitude and an honest belief that she's a good person simply because she can't face her own flaws, like her past dictates. Like Megan, she had no one person I based her on, but I'd like to think she's just as human as anyone else. Phil, Eli, Jeff (Swanson), Dylan, Kenny, Thomas, Isaiah and basically anyone else I don't exclusively mention had their personalities made up and named changed (then again, everyone who had an inspiration behind it had their name changed), but their physical form was inspired by someone. Carson was based on a good friend of mine that I only knew in grade 12. He's ... no longer really a friend of mine - he knew me a little too well, and I'm kind of sad by nature, which only dragged him down. I expect he's doing well these days. Mr. Carrozza, Mr. Graves and the severely underdeveloped Mrs. Jackson were all unique, born in my mind. Mr. Salvador was inspired by my own drama teacher, although the backstory was changed. So was his name. His real-life name is actually something commonplace and non-noticeable. I figured Salvador was an artistic name that could justify his character. Adam's dad was loosely based on a family friend who is no longer with us. He basically behaved the same way - he loved movies, particularly older ones, and never, ever smiled, even though he was a happy-go-lucky guy. His talk with Adam in the car was closely based on a similar discussion that same friend had with me. *disgusting erection-killer alert, you've been warned* Now, Adam, Nicole and Paul are very interesting to me, mostly because they basically are me. Adam symbolizes my doubt and basically me in ninth grade. Paul summarizes basically who I am now, the good and the bad. Nicole is a gender-swapped version of who I aspire to be, with a severely layered backstory added to her. I have pages and pages of her character's backstory alone, let alone other characters', that'll probably never even see the light of day. So when Adam and Nicole screw, you could almost say it's... masturbatory. Boooooooo Yeah, sorry. Fun fact, originally Nicole was never going to be a ...
