Make sure you borrow a car for the pick up, in case you are seen.” My mind raced as i heard him talking to Jimmy, wondering what changes to the plan he was talking about and if my husband Eric was in danger. My heart raced as i woke up fully and looked at the padlock securing my chain to the headboard and realized that it had not all been a nightmare. The note read: “Eric, you are doing well, leave the bag and walk 2 blocks south on Harvey to the bus stop. Sit down and wait for us to bring your wife to you, once the contents of the bag are verified.” At exactly 6am, Jimmy watched Eric pull into the parking lot and step out of his car, pausing to read the note then leaving a bag by the door and standing still, frozen for a minute before walking back to his car and sitting in the driver’s seat for a minute more. After what seemed like an eternity, he parked the car and set off on foot to the bus stop, as instructed. After watching for a few more minutes, Jimmy was satisfied that Eric had come alone and he drove to the restaurant to collect the bag. He drove toward the bus stop and parked a half block away, taking time to verify the contents of the bag and check for tracking devices while observing Eric sitting alone on the bench. Once he had counted the $100k in cash he threw the bag on the floor and drove to the bus stop, stopping in front of it and rolling down his window, “Hello Eric, get in the back, I will take you to your wife.” Eric stood up nervously and shook his head “No, you are supposed to bring her to me, how do I know you will take me to her.” Jimmy shook his head, “C’mon man, I don’t got time to sit here waiting.
