I got up and went to my bathroom, peed and washed my hands. I walked out to find my dad cooking breakfast. “Smells good,” I said. “What time did mom finally get to bed last night?” “She stayed up cooking and prepping and stuff til about three-thirty.     bit, not enough to look to out of place, but enough that Miss Tina would appreciate my effort. “See y'all later,” I called as I headed for the door. “I'm heading to Matt's, I should be home by eleven, but I'll call if it's going to be later.” I stepped outside and was meet by a strong, freezing cold wind. There was a hint of moisture in the air that foretold of some sort of precipitation to come. But we never get snow... I pulled up to Miss Tina's right at six. She must have been waiting and watching because she met me at the door. I went in and as soon as the door was closed we embraced in a way we never did in public or if Matt or Steph were around. We kissed and then separated. “You must still be working out,”she said as she stepped back to look at me. “You're bigger than the last time I saw you.” “Yes ma'am. I hit the weight room at school at least three times a week. You should see me with my shirt off.” “I'm sure I will,” she said. “Uh, I hate to ask this, because I noticed you dressed up a bit, but I need some firewood brought in and your best friend apparently forgot before he left.” “Sure.” We locked arms as we headed out the backdoor. With a tall privacy fence all the way around the back there was no chance anyone would see us. We walked over to the wood pile and I figured out why Matt hadn't brought in any firewood.
