nothing.” “Nothing? He threatened to sack me!” “He’s just pissed off. No-one’s losing their job. Your lanky boyfriend’s a whiz behind the bar and Jake’s short staffed. He’ll bend over backwards to keep him. As for you, your job’s secure, always has been. Unless you have another night like tonight of course. A bit too manic Tam, you were scary!” “I wasn’t that bad.” “Er yes, you were,” he smiled, nudging me in the ribs. “Look, take no notice of Jake. He’s acting like a twat ‘cos he’s desperate to stick his cock in you.” “Stick it in my mouth and piss down my throat actually,” I corrected. “Ugh, do you have to remind me? That’s so wrong!” I grinned. “So what do I do? Ignore him?” “No. Tell him you’ll do it.” “What?!” “Say yes. Let him pee on you. It sounds like you’d both enjoy it.” “He threatened me. He’s a cunt!” Oz sighed. “Yes, I know but he’s not a bad person. He’ll apologise when he calms down. Why don’t you have some fun with him? What harm will it do?” “Harm? Err… Gary ? I don’t suppose he’ll be too happy about it?” Oz blew out his cheeks. “Hmmm…” “What?” “Tam, you met him yesterday, you’re hardly married.” “I know. What can I say? You were right; I’ve fallen for him.” “Oh Tam.” Oz let out a sigh and patted my knee. “You leave Gary to me. I can swing this to make everyone happy.” “Really? How?” “Trust me. I wasn’t convinced Oz could turn my unfortunate predicament around, but I appreciated the offer and it was true, he had never let me down. Oz could be quite the miracle worker. That night, however, something bothered me. It was a niggling prickle that buried itself under my skin and kept digging in, paining me. Oz had always been a good friend and as such I’d expected him to condemn Jake’s outrageous proposal, instead he’d defended him, even going so far as to encourage me to say ‘yes’. I couldn’t understand that. Taking a deep breath, I put it out of my mind. I had work to do. The bar remained packed to the rafters right to the bitter end that night. I rushed around non-stop as the music was cranked-up and the drunken party-goers cavorted on the dance floor, on top the tables and out onto the street. I made no attempt to speak to either Gary or Jake, deciding that my best option was to keep my head down and concentrate on work. I was exhausted by the time the last customers left, we all were, and we still had the clean-up to tackle. Oz was the first to talk to me. He found me as I was piling glasses into the glass washer for the umpteenth time. “I’ve sorted thinks with Gary,” he anounced, touching my arm reassuringly. “What?” “Gary. I’ve talked to him and everything’s fine. You’re going to love tonight Tam.” “Tonight? What exactly…” “Oh, look out. Here comes ...
