lobby décor was indicative of the room that would be her home away from home for five glorious, action-packed days, then Maelynn was sure to be impressed. There was beauty as far as the eye could see, she had a Pretty Woman moment. “Wow, Doug! Look at this place!” She tugged at the hem of his suit jacket. Doug glanced around at the furnishings and other hotel guests and felt at home. He was accustomed to the glitz and glamour of high dollar hotels, and again he reminded her that she had a lot to learn. “Mae, look around, but don’t gawk,” he whispered with a smile. “Magnifique,” she whispered while doing just as he suggested. “Just beautiful.” The marble tile echoed beneath her heels while she walked down the entryway, mahogany pillars lined it, and as she let her eyes roam, she discovered that every nuance of the craftsmanship of the hotel screamed elegance. Mais je suis plus enthousiaste à l'égard de parties.” Doug shook his head at the attendant. “You want to stop flirting with my wife?” He placed his hand possessively on Maelynn’s, but she came to the young man’s aid. “We’re not flirting, babe,” she spoke softly, “He asked if I’d been to the French Riviera before and if I was excited about the Grand Prix.” Maelynn winked at the young man. “You said parties…” “Your horns are showing, babe, there’s no need to get upset.” Speaking in English, Maelynn continued, “Let’s go.” Philippe watched as they passed him. ‘American,’ he thought. Again a vision of Katherine flashed through his memory bank. Mrs. Simpson fascinated him and he was determined to find out why. ~~~ “Why do you do that, Doug?” Maelynn didn’t let it show in the ...
