    I'd taken a job as a handyman at a caravan site in Wales. Nothing too grand but it suited me fine. Few doors mended, sinks unblocked , the usual that holidaymakers seem to create when they stay over. I'd moved up on my own and was loving the care free life. A few beers in the club bar, the odd trip into the local town for a drink and a walk, but mainly just enjoying doing very little and having time to myself. The first few months had gone by okay, nothing too special to write home about. That , thankfully was about to change. I'd gone a few days without anything too troublesome to do when my radio went off saying I was needed at one of the vans. I walked down to the office and , as usual was greeted by the smiling face of Clare, the receptionist, shop worker, barmaid.. Pretty much she did everything, but being the site owners wife I guess that's one of the hassles. ' Van 30 has a problem with its oven 'she said . 'No problem' I replied though actually I was a bit annoyed, this would be the 2nd time in 2 weeks is been to the same problem, Holidaymakers blamed first time but I guessed it was just that the whole thing needed replacing.     drawback of the job really. People who reported faults and then stood around as if they could of mended it without my help. I knocked on the door and as usual stepped back down to wait. Pretty soon I could here the usual creaks as someone moved down the van , the door was opened and another holiday maker appeared. Looking up I was greeted by a woman who it's fair to say, didn't seem too happy. ' I'm here to look at the oven Madam' I said, I always said this as calling people love or other things had earned me a few funny looks before now 'No .. Really' came back the sarcastic reply. Great I thought, this is gonna be a fun job... Not. 'It just went bang and now won't do anything ' she told me as I walked past her into the kitchen area. I wasn't surprised, this was the same fault as before, 'Give me a minute and I'll see what I can do, it's hopefully just a fuse' ' Ok, fancy a cuppa whilst you work?' 'Coffee be nice ta' I replied and inside felt a bit more relaxed. A drink being made was normally a sign the mood had improved! I started with the plug to check the fuse as the woman moved past and got some cups from the overhead cupboard and put the kettle on, It was my first chance to properly look at her after the frosty reception id recieved and I was kicking myself now for not paying attention earlier.
