I think of you In the distant rumble of train on tracks, Your firm embrace Like the over-sized coat on my back. One day in, two days out, Reflecting on our One night in, then weeks apart... You still have me sailing on a cloud. It must have been that careless crossing from One street to another, My hand held in yours. Lone jaywalkers don't hoot in laughter The way we do At next to nothing at all, Stirring the calm before this hot-blooded storm. Into such easy patterns did we quickly fall. Now, days without you barely go by. These clock hands are far too taut for ticking But all of a sudden they twitch to life And these moments we share start collapsing Into boxes I’ll keep opening tomorrow - After our countless goodbyes And the midnight express has carted a piece of me away, Marking the end of St. Valentine’s Day.
