    He awoke late, he had overslept and his trip into town would be later than he had planned. He showered and still nude he walked by the windows in his flat often, knowing that people in adjoining buildings would if they were looking be able to see him. He then went into the bedroom, he picked up a make up bag and then sat on the bed and from the bag he pulled several bottles of nail polish. He chose a deep red colour, opened the bottle and started to paint each of his toenails. He looked down as the polish dried and smiled, this truly was the start of his new life. he had vowed that whilst in the flat everything about him would be feminine and female. Because he was going out he decided not to use the deep red on his finger nails and chose instead a very pale pink, almost clear, but should anyone look closely at his nails it would be obvious that he was wearing nail polish. He carefully painted each finger nail thinking that he must start to let his nails grow and also that he must have them shaped in order that they look less male and more feminine. He dressed in chinos and a shirt and loafers without socks, the weather was warm and he was looking forward to trawling through the charity shops that were numerous in the area. Downstairs he went into the underground reserved parking area, got into his car, and made his way into town. Parking was easy and he left his car in a multi story and walked into the centre to start his shopping. He found the first shop just a few minutes ...
    later, looking in the window he could see that inside were racks of clothing plus of course bric a brac stuff as well. He walked to the door and opened it and was greeted by a faint musty smell which he assumed came from some of the garments, it wasn't an unpleasant smell but he realised that he was looking at, and for second hand clothing right now. A curtain at the rear of the shop was pulled aside and a woman walked out of a room and greeted him and told him that if he wanted any help just give her a shout as she was on her own and she was steaming some clothes that had just come in. He nodded and said he was fine and just looking, she went back into the room but left the curtain open so that she could see out and he could see in. He walked to the racks of dresses and skirts and looked through them, realising suddenly that he had no idea what size he was, he knew what his waist was in inches, but female clothing was measured in a different way ! Continuing on he moved to another rack and cursed himself for not looking on the internet to convert inches into sizes, so much for his shopping trip he thought as he turned to leave the shop in order that he could rectify his mistake. as he turned the woman was leaving the room carrying an armful of clothing to hang on the display racks. Couldn't find anything she asked him, as she started to transfer the clothes from her arms onto the racks. No, he replied with a laugh, nothing in my size anyway. And what size would that be then ...
