    “Wake up!” She shook his shoulders trying to rouse him from his sleep. They weren’t really even friends. Sure, they worked together, but they only saw each other outside of work because she was friends with his roommate, Neil. They had gotten to casually know each other over the last few months. She came by quite often to see Neil, and Greg was always around. “Wake up!” She kept shaking him; this was hopeless. How could someone sleep through all of this? She would just let him sleep, but then when he didn’t show up, work would call her to come in and she had asked for today off. She stopped shaking him, sat at the edge of the bed and tried to figure out what to do. Neil had left hours ago, letting her sleep late on the couch. She would have enjoyed it if Greg’s alarm hadn’t been going off all morning. She had pulled the plug out of the wall to stop the noise, but now she felt guilty that he might oversleep. “Just lay back down,” he mumbled, curling his body around where she sat. Was he finally awake? She looked him over, he still seemed to be asleep, but maybe he was getting closer to waking up. “Greg!” she leaned over him, “You have to get up! You’re going to be late for work.” His eyes twitched and his face seemed to respond to her voice. Finally!     just lay down.” He was mumbling a little less, he sounded like he was waking up, and the way he had pulled her behind him she was practically lying down already. She was surprised by how warm his touch was. Not just the temperature of his hands, but how warmly her body responded to it. Tingles ran up her arm when he touched it, and any uneasy feelings she should have had about lying in bed with him evaporated as he scooted back against her. Her arm curled around his stomach and her hand crawled up to his chest. Maybe just for a minute, she thought, I did wake up a lot earlier than I had wanted to . She cozied against his back and felt the warmth burst through her whole body. Her eyes started to close as his hand closed around hers on his chest. She tried to remember the last time she had lain in bed with a man like this. Sure there had been a few one night stands in somewhat recent past. They didn’t stay wrapped up with her through the night though. More often than not they snuck out after a quick shower. Most of them only called her again in the middle of the night, when they had run out of luck picking up girls in a bar. Few of those had ever been invited back to her bed at the end of the call; and again they had snuck out after a shower. This was nice. She locked her leg over his and settled into the pillow.
