ten foot stone walls that we first saw out front must have made a giant semi circle around the entire resort. The walls ends were built up into the surf at least a hundred feet out. The resorts beach itself looked to be nearly a quarter mile long. ~"I don't care how long I live on the west coast, I'll never get tired of this." Carmen said standing next to me gazing out over the water. Carole was on the other side of her. ~"I feel sorry for anyone who never has had a chance to to see the sunset like this." Carole chimed in. We walked slowly up and down the beach for a while making an easy pace for Carole to keep up. The sun was nearly kissing the horizon. We passed by a little vending stand that looked like a tiki hut. A local stood behind the stand speaking Spanish to us waving us over to him. I probably would have just smiled and waved and kept walking but Carmen started speaking back to him in Spanish. I looked at her surprised. ~"I speak bad Spanish." She explained with a shrug. We approached him, and they exchanged a few more foreign words. Carmen brightened up with a laugh. "He wants to know what the pretty American tourist girls want for a drink." I looked closely at the contents of his tiki hut to realize he was a selling adult beverages. I didn't skip a beat. I placed a twenty dollar bill on his cart. ~"Seis cervezas por favor." I said probably sounding like a pathetic gringo. This guy I'm sure knew we weren't of legal age to drink. He replied back to us eagerly taking my twenty and putting six beer cans on the counter for us. I took the beers and we left. ~"I didn't know you spoke Spanish?" Carmen asked me confused. ~"I don't speak Spanish." I said smugly. "But even if you dropped me in China and gave me a week, I'd learn the important stuff too." I looked at Carmen cracking a smile, and then back to Carole. "Tell me you're old enough to know how to keep your mouth shut?" I looked at her with a serious face. ~"I don't say anything when you jump the fence out back late at night do I?" Carole shot back cracking a smile. She had caught me off guard. I could only laugh at her. "And What fascination do you have with our neighbors pond?" She added with the most sarcastic tone I had ever heard come out of her silly mouth. ~"Oh you are so busted!" Carmen laughed at me pointing. Busted by your little sister! You're a Not as slick as you thought you were!" I smiled knowing I had been busted stashing my pot by Carole and she had been cool enough not to rat on me. I blushed and rolled my eyes. I cracked two of the beers and gave one to Carmen. ~"Well no beer for you then! You wouldn't like it anyways." I taunted and laughed at Carole. The three of us walked up and down the beach joking and teasing each other as the sun disappeared ...
