Come, pretty birds, present your lays, And learn to chant a goddess praise; Ye wood-nymphs, let your voices be Employed to serve her deity: And warble forth, ye virgins nine, Some music to my Valentine. Her bosom is men's paradise, There is no heaven but in her eyes, more beautiful than the turtle-dove, fairer than the Queen above Oh no magic could deter my eyes, Let them stray from my valentine. Where honour, beauty, worth and wit Are all united in her pleasant chest The graces claim an interest: All virtues that are most divine Shine clearest in my Valentine.
