This is my first story posted to this site; constructive comments are appreciated. This story has a lot of buildup. If you’re looking for a quick one, this story isn't for you. If you’re in a rush, this story is divided into two parts since it’s so long. 26 pages, wasn't expecting that… Skip down to part two if you’re in a hurry. Otherwise, please enjoy! ___________________________________________________ Part 1 First off, I suppose I should introduce myself. I’m Felix. I’m 25, have a degree in Computer Science, and I’m finally off living on my own. I know 25 is pretty old to finally get out of the house, but I've had health problems my entire life. In fifth grade, I was diagnosed with a myriad of disorders ranging from anxiety, to OCD, to Tourette Syndrome. For those of you who don’t know, Tourette's is more than just the swearing disease. The tics, involuntary movements or sounds, range from minor to severe. The more severe of which have caused me several broken ribs and been a literal pain in the neck. I’d been on a veritable cocktail of medications for over 10 years, and I had gotten up to a peak weight of 360 pounds. Even though I’m 6’2”, I was still majorly overweight. Life was pretty much miserable for me for over 10 years of my life. Another drawback of having severe health issues all through high school and the beginning of college was the ladies. I’d had one ‘relationship’ that ended poorly during my sophomore year in high school, but that had lasted only a month or so and we’d never even kissed. Since I didn't ask anyone out after that, there were the typical rumors of my being gay. I didn't fight those rumors. In high school, denying the truth of a rumor was the best way to confirm it in the eyes of the students. My friends knew I wasn't gay, but since I was rumored to be gay, most of those friends were women. After several years of being simply a ‘friend’ to the women around me, my confidence was completely shot. My condition finally started to turn around when I turned 21. I finally was the required age for an experimental surgery. The surgery, Deep Brain Stimulation, was a resounding success. I’d finished my degree at the university, gotten a job at a web development company, and lost over 120 pounds. I didn't have a six pack, but at least I didn't have a keg anymore. In short, I wasn't in the best shape for a guy my age, but considering where I’d been, 240 was better than I could have hoped. So to put in bluntly, I was mildly attractive, surrounded by available women, and had a good stable job on the horizon. But despite these going in my favor, I lacked the confidence to take the leap into the world of dating. David, probably my best friend, was going for his doctorate ...
