    “Thank you guys so much, I really do owe you one!” “Anytime Liv, but just so you know we weren’t here for you per say, we were mainly here for the free pizza.” I let out a laugh and my group of friends join in and start hugging me good-bye. We say our good-byes and I let out a breath as I close the door, thankful that this day is almost over. With my new roommate at work, thank God my friends were able to help me move, there is no way I’d have been able to do it on my own. I walk over to the kitchen and look for the boxes labeled “glasses”. I find a wine glass pull it out and pour my self a well-deserved drink. As I slump back into my couch I wonder what it will be like living with someone that I wouldn’t consider a friend. My old friend, Sarah, has this friend, Kate, whom is my new roommate and she said Kate was looking for a new roomie and sense my old lease was up, I decided on a change. I’ve met Kate before, she’s very polite but reserved, so I wasn’t sure about moving in but it was either this or living in my crap of an old place for another three years. So here I am. I hear the door open followed by a voice, “Honey I’m home.” Thank-god she has a sense of humour . “I’m in the living room!” I shout.     beneficial to the company, so that’s a good thing...” A look comes across her face and she realizes my fatigue and she continues, “Well I assume you’re just wiped, so I’m just gonna have a quick shower and go to bed, see ya in the morning?” “Sure thing, oh, and congrats” She gives a bright smile and turns to head in for the night; I finish my wine and decide to follow her lead, sleep would be really nice. I head to my room, close the door, change and hop in bed, welcomed by my new mattress. I immediately fall asleep. *~*~*~*~*~* I wake by the muffled sound of someone going through our fridge. What the..? Fear courses through me until I realize that I’m not alone, I do have a roommate. Why the hell is Sarah looking for food at this hour? Since I’m awake I decide to go to the washroom and see if she’s okay. I stumble out of bed and head towards the kitchen until I notice the black silhouette that was in our kitchen bolt out of the front door. HOLY HELL! There was someone in our apartment! I tip top to the corner of the room and peek at the front door. I quickly run up and try to lock the door, only to realize it’s broken… perfect. I bolt into the kitchen and try and steady my breath. After doing a thorough check to see if anything was stolen – thankfully there wasn’t. I decide to go back to bed realizing there’s nothing I can do now.
