1. Mine Own Troubadour

So gallant is mine own true love, He lives to honor me. My tears do fill mine eyes once more As he both plays and sings. He careth not what might befall From what adoring brings. Our kisses might be hidden now But soon we may be free. This formless dread doth prey upon My mind that fills with doubt. I look upon his visage proud, His rugged mien so rare. He tells me that he doth approve Of mine own placid air. We know the pain that may be felt If we should be found out. Now so our hearts may beat as one, He must needs make his schemes. 'Tis like unto a dreadful fear, This life we two must hide. So soon we hail the rising sun, And off together ride. The truth might be the end of us, But now we live our dreams. This night we shall escape this site, To sail beyond our ken. With hope and joy we shall be one, To live as gentle men.
