dribbled down between my bum cheeks. ******* My best friend is Emma; I have known her since infant’s school. I love her and trust her with my life. Emma had met Jason a couple of times. She didn’t like him much; she thought he was flash and far too full of himself. “He’s not right for you,” she warned me. After we had dated for about eight months, Jason suggested moving into my house with me. I called Emma. “Do you love him?” she asked. “Yes, I think so,” I replied. “I just don’t want to see you get hurt. If you think he’s the one, then go for it,” she said. “Make sure you stay on the pill, won’t you?” she added. Jason moved three suitcases of his possessions into my flat over one weekend. For eighteen months everything was fine. Our sex life was to die for and Jason was kind to me. He paid his way and we had enough money to go round. Weekends we would always go out, perhaps for a meal or to the cinema. Like most couples we spent a lot of time together. It was around June time I first noticed things had changed. Suddenly I felt lonely and neglected; I seemed to be spending more and more time alone. Evenings and weekends I was either home alone, or visiting friends and relations on my own. Jason was either playing golf or attending a meeting at the Golf Club. We had drifted into a situation I didn’t like or want. Over the next few weeks something very strange happened. There were stories of infidelity and deceit everywhere I went. My favourite TV soap started running a ...

Nearly every other day something to do with infidelity would catch my eye. It was so in my face, I couldn’t ignore it. Everybody was at it. The first seed of doubt had been planted in my mind. I worried about our sex life; we had definitely slowed down in that department. I tried to convince myself it was due to tiredness or the familiarity of living together. After all, you can’t fuck like rabbits all the time. Can you? I didn’t want to ring Emma. I knew exactly what she would say. “I knew he was wrong for you, I tried to tell you.” Perhaps she was right? I decided to ask Jason outright, and that evening I popped the question. “Jason is everything OK between us? You always seem to be out on your own; we don’t make love as often as we used to. If something’s wrong you would tell me wouldn’t you? ” I blurted out. “Everything is fine babe, how could it not be? Of course I love you,” he assured me, as he pecked me on the forehead. “I really don’t like spending so much time on my own,” I remarked. Jason went on the defence and slipped into car salesman mode. “Come on Lucy, I think I’m entitled to some time on my own. Play a little golf with a few friends? After all, I work hard all week, I think you’re being unreasonable,” he complained. Of course he should be allowed some free time with his golfing cronies. God, I’m such a cretin . Next day I ...
