    I figured Mom would call to check in with me eventually; she always does. After all, that’s what mother’s do. Then why is my heart pounding so hard and why is my stomach tying itself in knots? Why should I be the slightest bit apprehensive about telling her where I am and who I’m with? I mean, hooking Deanna and I up was her plan from the start. Wasn't it?
