    The night was very clear with just a sliver of a moon and the temperature hovered in the upper forties to damn near fifty. Quite unseasonably warm for Michigan in early March, especially for overnight lows; but hey, we’ll take it!! The roads were almost completely deserted at that hour of the morning; particularly in such an affluent area as Rochester Hills, so the drive to Denny’s took less than five minutes. But we still held hands all the way! I even rested my head on Deanna’s shoulder as she drove. Denny’s too was almost entirely deserted; a little surprising I thought initially for it was approaching the drunk-thirty hour. But then again, it was early Monday morning; so only the truly dedicated party animals, drunks and barflies are out partying hardy on Sunday nights. And as the small handful of them were crowded into the small smoking section, Deanna and I were seated in a corner booth in the non-smoking section by the windows on the far opposite side of the restaurant where we pretty much had the place to ourselves. I slid into the booth and to my great delight, Deanna slid in right beside me. I figured she would follow standard decorum and slide into the opposite side; but she had clearly read my mind that I wanted to cuddle. Both of us ordered cup of coffee and a glass of water to start off. As Deanna picked up a menu, I slid my arms around her and snuggled against her. Wrapping her right arm around me as she held the menu in her left hand, we studied it together. ...
    Well sort of anyway. To be honest, I was far too preoccupied with Deanna and how warm she was; and how soft she was. And my God, she smelled so good! Resting my head against her shoulder, Deanna kissed me softly on top of my head and on the side of my forehead just above my temple. We each ordered the Lumberjack Slam. I also ordered a large glass of orange juice and Deanna a large glass of milk. Once the waitress had departed with our order, Deanna and I just sat there and held each other. Neither of us ever even touched our cup of coffee or glass of water. We cuddled and we snuggled. We gazed deeply into each other’s eyes and we caressed each other’s faces. We let our lips graze and brush over each other in soft, sweet kisses as we ran our fingers through each other’s hair. And through it all, not a single word was ever spoken between us. There was no need. Again, time stood still. It was just the two of us in our own perfect little world. Nothing else mattered or even existed. In fact it took the clanking of plates being set on the table in front of us to snap us back to reality. The two of us then proceeded to feast like famished lions. And yes, I used my irresistible charm; as well as my big baby brown puppy dog eyes as Deanna calls them, to coax her into spoon feeding me again. And while she didn’t feed my entire meal to me this time, she did serve quite a bit of it nonetheless. Though she fussed and grumbled a bit, the fact is that she loved doing it as much as I loved ...
