1. Beautiful Grief

For once I’m wishing for snow, That this dull, grey sky Would send down its soft revenge So I could hear these thoughts of you In the kind of peace that sifts over us Like angels shedding their beautiful grief. Yet there are no angels here but us, And the biggest sadnesses of all Are the ones that make our hearts swell Beyond the size of our bodies. We keep this dream of crystal purity alive On our own In whispers out of darkness So soft even the air strains to hear them. Harbor lights walk on water While my fingers walk your skin. Miracles only happen in the dark Where everything that’s left of us Falls apart in each other’s arms.
