    about an hour by herself before anyone got home. She immediately ran into the shower, to try to clean off any residue from what had just happened. She put on clean pajamas, and crawled into her bed and cried uncontrollably for what seemed like forever. If she could have, she never would have gotten out of bed again. She felt so dirty…so used. Her father was trying to get more tax work, and she was trying to get more hours at Sears, but it would have to be this way for a while. Over the next few weeks, Keri’s grades did improve at school, as Alex had promised, but she was miserable. She hated having to look forward to her “weekly rape” as she called it, but her mother demanded that she endure the humiliation because she HAD to get better grades if someone in the family would ever be able to escape the hell that was their lives. And so it went…Keri’s grades got a little better, the sex made her cry every week, and life went on.
